Vision
To promote the production and distribution of safe and effective formulated products that provide desirable benefits for household, commercial, institutional and industrial customers and consumers, and their families, pets and their environment.
Mission
To provide principles of management practice, leadership and
training by which companies can provide safe and effective products for their household, commercial, institutional and industrial customers and consumers.
Preamble
We are the companies that produce and market formulated products, and the companies that support them with materials and services. Our products are used in homes, institutions, commercial establishments and industrial facilities. In a decades long relationship with our customers, we have jointly recognized the value of these products to health, hygiene and quality of life. Although each company is committed to compete aggressively on product performance, price and convenience, the individual companies participating in the stewardship program are equally committed to using sound science to deliver the high levels of safety and consumer education that our customers have come to expect. We believe that everyone who uses our products deserves consistently, high quality performance that safely and effectively meets their needs.
Stewardship Principles
Preface
The Principles outlined below offer encouragement and guidance for assessing and enhancing the health, safety, and environmental performance of our products and services. By voluntarily agreeing to implement these Principles, members commit themselves to a continuing effort to carry out the Principles as they apply to their unique operations. Participants enter the program for a two-year evaluation and review period during which a self-assessment is conducted using the Principles as a guide. After that period, the company is eligible to join the program, committing independently to implement these Principles. Each member company voluntarily reassesses and recommits to the stewardship program biennially.
